PostDoc/PhD Job

POSITIONS IN: REMOTE SENSING AND CROP
PHYSIOLOGY (POST-DOCTORAL OR ASSOCIATE
SCIENTIST LEVEL)
 The International Maize and Wheat Improvemen
 Center (CIMMYT) is looking for innovative and
academically outstanding candidates to work within
 our Global Wheat research team. The positions
would be located at CIMMYT headquarters near
Mexico City. The appointment is initially for two
years, with the opportunity for extension into a
career position. Extensive travel within Mexico
 will be required.

Remote Sensing Expert (applied to crops)
Main Responsibilities:

Establish remote sensing protocols (spectral
reflectance, IR imaging, etc) to screen large
numbers of genetic resources in field
conditions in Mexico. Analyze, interpret
and publish data. Work closely with international
collaborators and students.
General support to Wheat Physiology group.

Skills and experience sought:

A recent PhD in physical or
 biological science and
knowledge of crop science.
Experience in high throughput
phenotyping and/or image analysis.
Quantitative skills in areas such as
 statistics, simulation modeling, etc.
Fluency in spoken and written English,
 with Spanish language skills is
an advantage. Ability to work well as
 part of multidisciplinary
and multicultural teams.
